Akin to its predecessor, the Toyota GR Yaris retains its 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, generating 198kW at 6500rpm and 360Nm of torque between 3000 and 4600rpm. This advanced engine incorporates direct injection, a single-scroll ball-bearing turbocharger, and an intercooler.

Transferring power to all four wheels is a six-speed manual transmission paired with a fully variable all-wheel drive system. To suit individual preferences, owners can switch between different 4WD modes. Normal Mode provides a front-to-rear split of 60:40, Sport Mode enhances it to 30:70, and Track Mode establishes a balanced set of 50:50, ensuring optimal performance during fast and competitive driving.

Inside the cabin, the GR Yaris offers comfortable sports seats upholstered mainly with leather and Alcantara. Other notable features include dual-zone climate control, a Heads-up Display, and a six-speaker touchscreen infotainment system.
